Jack, three years' worth is ideal.....if you need more room for storage, how often do you actually use your dining room?;) I'm betting you could get at least 4-5 cord in there, properly ranked and what-not!:D

I would have to move the toolbox I have sitting in there... Otherwise you plan is flawless!

OhioStihl, if there was a "extra-extra-like" link on your post, I'd wear out my mouse clicking it. Real good thing for you to do.

My wife is a teacher in Oberlin and I live about 20 min South of there. Just below Wellington.

If you ever pass through and want to chat or run a chainsaw to get your fix? Swing on by. I live just off of Rt 58.

Update: my girlfriend talked to her parents. That are amazed how much better their stove burns with seasoned wood. They cant believe they have been burning all these years and didn't realize their wood supply wasn't seasoned right.
No kidding, I saw firewood at their house that I thought would blossom in the spring, it was so green.

They are selling in the spring and headed down to southern Ohio. If they get a condo there will be no more wood stove for them. I am hoping for a small house so I can install a chimney, hearth and small stove.

I must have passed your house when we went through Wellington. I might take you up on your offer. We are headed up later this winter. Your hospitality is appreciated.

    Absolutely and anytime.

Please stop in. Warm yourself by the fire and have a cup of coffee or a brew if the lady is driving :)

That's great that they get to see how a stove should burn, might make them question all the years they were sold wood by a family member though.

Way to go! Hope their son learns something from watching how wood should burn...... I find it hard to believe that people will so willingly screw over their parents....It's beyond shameful!
