It's definitely Ash. All the bark is off it and you can see the EAB frass tunnels everywhere.

2-3 year plan is for firewood, not freezer goods. I'm guilty too.:handshake::rofl:

I had to defrost my freezer to get a old turkey out of it.

Got the cabinets sanded and poly applied. Grain really popped after poly. Install tomorrow.

And that leaves little time to sit back and enjoy a cold “one”. But you have to stop and smell beer sometimes.

Beautiful grain. That’s going to be a handsome vanity when you’re finished.

When I moved here, I bought a small upright off CL. I believe it was only 11 or 13 cu/ft. I filled it up with foods brought from my previous house as well as whenever there were sales on meat. After a couple of years, I realized that not only was it in my way of trying to get work done in the basement, but I never opened the door except to put stuff in.

I finally emptied it out, put the freezer on the curb (a neighbor was trying to put it in his car 15 minutes later - I delivered it for him in the old Explorer). The freezer below the fridge is plenty big enough for a single person.

You may have seen this before, but it’s great for newbies. This video popped up in my feed and it looks like he got everything about wood right. There’s even a plug for FHC in it.

Sounds like here when the kids and grands show up. My wife is at the freezer as soon as we hear them pull up to the house.

Bringing it in for the season. I like to keep a little more than a face cord under the deck. On top of the deck right outside the back door I have another smaller rack for the stuff I plan on burning that week. As the racks get depleted I refill as needed. Getting pumped now! 12DC55A3-B8A5-4AB0-B1B7-C32742A2094D.jpeg

Looked at some of his videos when I started messing with firewood. I think he is having health problems. It sure seems to be plenty of that.

Thanks, I just finished it up right before Labor Day. It consumed most of my summer working on it a couple hours here and there. I still have some cosmetic details to do, I’d like to stain it as well. Probably next year. The original one was tiny, 10 X 12.

Today was spent working in the kitchen pulling down old ceiling, framing the support box for the class A and putting up some new ceiling drywall. Knotty pine on the left wall was removed and new drywall installed. It will be nice when done. It is getting closer to hearth building.:yes:I'll need to figure out rear wall shield options. I may have to pay stupid money for a piece of corrugated metal. Install date is a month away.

I found this up in the ceiling, and was not expecting that. I might turn it into a mini wood-fired bake oven.
