3 straight mornings of hard frost, but this morning it is in the 50's still at 3:30 am, so won't get any today.

Rain has cleared the air now, and things are much better as far as clean air goes.

Cool and wet the next few days though.....

Little stove is up and running this morning.....

Starting Monday we are supposed to get another warm spell...

30's here up on a small hill. We got in about 200 tons at the store, they are selling out like crazy. As I am not a big burner, I just usually stick with the insta heat that we sell, ashy but no real bother. I get em for like 4 bucks a bag after my discount. I keep some VTs for the cold days, but after dropping almost 8k on a new furnace and central air, I will be use the 500 gallons of dino juice!!

Gave the little Whitfield it's first cleaning of the FALL SEASON

Spiffed it up good washed the windows and got it ready for a nice fire in the morning

    Stove in my Avatar.....

After a full season of running on the new controller I could not be happier with the performance.....

Starting season two with the new controller.....

We can run longer between needing to clear the fire pot (8 hours) and the fire burns cleaner too

Better control of all the functions

Hot and sweaty because many days and most nights it's too smoky from a wildfire blowing smoke over us and we are in a warm weather pattern. Fortunate today, smoke shifted so opened doors and windows to cool the house down a bit for as long as the smoke stays away :)

Thanks Bogie! Since I last posted, I managed to pull my hamstring in my left leg. Quite the painful bugger. I may be done riding for the rest of the year!

    Hello, pelletheads.

It's been a very long time since i was here.
    PS50 still going strong.
    Hope you are all well.

I do have a question though, in the realm of just knowing how if ever needed.
Tried googling, and didn't get the specific answer i *think* i need.

What is the process for running a stove without a thermostst?
I've seen the mention of jumping the terminals where the tstat hooks up.
If the tstat wires are disconnected, then is there no jump needed?
Do you then just use the power plug as the on off switch?

If you remove the T-Stat, insert a short jumper wire in the 2 terminals on the stove. Otherwise, stove won't run. You could also just twist the wires together at the T-Stat if you're not removing the stat from the wall.

    Thank you, imacman.

So am i correct in thinking that you just then use the power plug as the on off switch?

I haven't had to change a vehicle tire since sometime i the early 80's. Yesterday I blew a tire in my own driveway (some would say it was good timing, I say it was stupidity on my part). I had never used a scissor jack before,, or use the side frame rails for jacking up, but it went smoothly and I got the tiny donut tire on.

Drove the car the two miles to the dealer and told them they could have it as long as they need it since I have the Explorer to use anyway. We were discussing how many tires to put on, 1 or 2, when the advisor said that tire rebates are coming out Thursday. Hey, who could pass that up? Wait for a week, get 4 tires and be good for years and years and years if this work from home thing keeps on going. During the discussion we discovered I've put less than 2k on since April (last time it was in for inspection) - after putting on nearly 18k in 16 months.

If the stove doesn't have it's own on-off switch, then I guess yes.
