so off to Ace Hardware and got some supplies. I figured i had enough of carrying water around the basement to fill the 2 gallon stock pot on the wood stove so i got an idea. Since I was already going right over the wood stove i added a tee and valve and a short piece of pex tube for a fill line. I left one 90° not quite crimped tight so i could swing it out of the way. Here's how it works.
I put a hose bib out front for watering the garden and cleaning the septic tank outlet filter. Another on the back corner of the house for washing and filling the tank on the Rock and Roll tour bus. And ran another into the garage for when i dump the tanks on the rv. I cut a tee in the existing line to the one hose bib i did have and added a valve to turn off all the hose bibs in one. I also added an extra valve and boiler drain after the tee to the garage so i can shut it off in the winter and drain it back to the house so it doesn't freeze or break. All to save time dragging hoses around. Got a hose reel on wheels while i was at it.
Yup more hose bibs good! wife wants a warm water also. Too wash dogs and maybe me off before entering house
When I replaced the rusted up spigot on the side of the house, I went through the extra work and tied in to the hot water as well as the cold so I have the option. Never regretted it once, it is so nice having warm available outside!
My wife just looked over my shoulder and asked what I was watching “ a guy filling a stock pot on his stove dear” she gave me a funny look and made a phone call in the other room, if you all don’t hear from me the men with the white jacket took me away!
I kept watching...and watching...and watching...was expecting something a little more dramatic to happen at some point...felt like a dummy for watching the whole pot fill
