Hate to hear any company with bad customer service Kimber of oregon treated me bad in 1996 I bought a very early custom 1911 .45 It was simply They severely kinked and ruined the recoil spring They accused me of trying to take advantage of them for a 4.00 spring lol Excellent pistol I kept it but I told them I'd never buy another kimber product. The very best customer service I've dealt with for myself and fixed guns for friends has been s&w,springfield armory, ruger, Kahr and CZ Glock is difficult they do no wrong lol But they finally replaced a frame on my friends new Glock 22 There was a run with issues with the frame rails many year's ago.
My favorite rimfire right now: Anschutz 1907 shooting CenterX ammo. So far I’ve shot two IBS 50y cards and both were clean 250s. I need to try some green monster cards next.
My long range rifle: 6BRA / Borden Super Short 6, Bartlein 8tw LV barrel, Bixn Andy trigger, Vortex 5-25x50 FFP scope, GRS Hybrid stock. Working on a load using Vapor Trail 103s and N140 powder.
Got my FN VIGILANTE .40 out today At 75ft the top group is factory Remington 180fmc I hadn't shot the pistol in many years So that's part of why it didn't group well. The bottom groups are 165gr Sierra handloads Very accurate gun imho
Glock 22 at 75ft Glocks aren't my favorite but I shoot them well enough. This one has the .25 trigger job I polished the crap out of the internals In the early 2000s when I got it new 4lb trigger.
I can only afford to shoot my .40s Somebody wanted 50.00 a box for new .40 and 9mm fmj lol I loaded a bunch in the 90s and early 2000s for idpa Surprisingly reliable. No bad primers so far No failure's in 400 or so Gen 1 S&W M&P .40 I bought a 9mm barrel and mags for it too. Seem as accurate as anything. I haven't tried a 2.0 m&p I'll ask if any of my friends has one.
Just found this thread, enjoyed it. One of the guys was just talking about the taurus pistols this morning before I got on the thread. Impressed at the price and your thoughts on them, will have to check them out. Just told the wife the other day we need to find a gun or two to leave out in the garage for when we're working out, since someone could pull in and we wouldnt see them till they were pretty much between us and house access. Ammo is the doozie right now. You almost have to go to a store, see what ammo you can find, but it, then go buy a pistol to go with it (if you don't already have a "varied selection" in your portfolio).....
I have my reloaded ammo mostly from many year's ago When I shot idpa Still works great. Store bought ammo is crazy now 50.00 for 50 9mm lol I picked a bad time to start shooting again.
We don't have hogs here, but we have coyotes, foxes, racoons, skunks and snow hare/jackrabbit hybrids. Also strange we've been here for 7 years, 3 dogs, but the new pup just found it. Weird! Just relieved I could count the front teeth, some bad things happened to dogs here a long time ago.
I guess your climate is drier than what I'm used to...but that jaw doesn't look that old. And doesnt look like animals (rodents-mice, rats, squirrels etc) have been chewing on it....
My friend won a marlin model 60 from a tip board. Good shooter triggers not the best yet but it'll break in.
Funny I just saw this thread, cleaned all mine and the wife’s guns yesterday only snapped a few pics of the handguns. 38 spl was a gift from my uncle, the 9mm was what my wife got on her 30th birthday, the year before I met her. Other guns include multiple 22s, my marlins And her rugers. A few shotguns, one of which from the 1930s. Old Iver Johnson .410 break barrel. I gave two to the ex wife when we split, the two cheapest/least attached guns I had. A mosin nagant that had an ati stock/scope/etc and a .380 bersa thunder. Great guns, she liked them more than I did. Glad it was those rather than my others.
I lucked out. I spent a good amount of my loose cash on reloading components this year for no particular reason when this hit. I also won a few thousand primers at a local auction and just to try out the online auction thing. Now I have a few thousand 6mm bullets, a couple thousand 9mm bullets, about 40lb of powder, and many more primers than that. It’s enough to go through at least one 6ppc barrel and two 6BRA barrels. So even if you get into reloading, you need to locate primers, bullets, and brass. I still load on a single stage which is slightly crazy for 9mm but I don’t shoot enough of those to justify a progressive press. Fortunately my Lee carbide resizing die sizes the brass so that a bullet will seat securely and cycle smoothly in my H&K VP-9 without a crimping operation.
I started stocking up on some reloading components the other year during one of the ammo crazy "pandemics". I dont currently reload, but the FIL does quite a bit, so the equipment is close and available. I should get more supplies and some of the dies he doesnt have...
The Lee factory crimp die is excellent It size's the case head also Open bolt semi and full auto Free brass from shooting ranges I reload from would pass the go no go gauge And still wouldn't chamber because of case head distortion. The 10.00 or whatever Lee die fixes it Well worth it.
