Curious what seasoned firewood if going for. I have 50 acers that I've been playing around on and have some seasoned oak, black birch, and ash to sell. I built a box to go on the side of the road for camp wood. The road is right by a lake with seasonal houses on it. Low traffic but it's that time of year. I did some math and believe the boxes are .03 cord dosent sounds like much but it's a full wheel barrow load per box. I'm asking 10$ or about 300 a cord when you do the math. Still way cheaper then buying camp wood at the gas station or tractor supply.

    Location is central Massachusetts

$500 per cord of locust and the better stuff. Birch for $400/cord. Maple somewhere in the middle. I live in the suburbs just outside the city near seattle.

I just placed an order of 1 cord of seasoned, delivered for $300; about 100 miles east of Midwinter's location.

Also picked up some of that campfire wood yesterday, two armfuls for $5 each.

Smaller volume you sell the higher price per cord. I sell 1cf bags of mixed hardwood for $6/bag or 2/$10. At 2/$10 thats $640/cord, but I sell the same wood for $110 for 1/2 cord.

Typically here in Northern Wisconsin, gas stations are selling 0.75 cubic foot bundles for $5-$5.99. These bundles are typically certified and can be taken anywhere in the state.

Me, I am selling my 0.75 cubic foot bundles (which are typically oversized a bit) for $5 at my roadside stand.

Full cord - 8' sticks - wood is selling between $75 and $100 a cord when delivered on a semi in 10+ cord loads. I paid $100 per cord last november for a 12 cord of red oak delivered, and just $80 per cord for White Ash last week delivered on a semi.

"Seasoned" split firewood around here is selling for $70-100 per face cord (210-300 per cord) depending on species. Typical hardwood has been 75-90 per face cord.

Wow, didn't realize it went that low anywhere in PA. In my section of south east PA, the lowest I see advertised is $200/cord for mixed hardwood. $275/cord for mixed hardwood is about the highest. If you can sell buy the 1/3 of a cord or smaller you can really up your profit/cord. I found guys with 4-door trucks and little 5 foot beds think they can haul 1/2 cord without mounding it up. So they are willing to pay $100+ a load if you let them.
