    The Rain yesterday was magnificent......

We got a good soaking for sure.

Son in law is coming up today ...bringing back our Avalanche and taking his Dodge truck home.

They had the horse trailer hooked up in case we needed to vamooooose because of fire....

Fire is pretty much a thing of the past now....at least here.

Weather folks are talking about a pretty decent fall storm next week with rain and a good chance of stiff winds.....

    Summer is over

Fire in the stove this morning too.... 64 F in the shack :shiver:

I had retired the protabel A/C for the living room last weekend. Yesterday took out the window A/C in the office. P43 has run all but one night for the past week. On windy days, it has been going thru the daytime too.

About ready to let the P61 come out of hibernation as the basement is down to 64 and the floor for the main level feel :shiver: on the bare feet (which is how my feet are 90% of the time). I'll unpack it today so it is ready to go when I decide the time is right.

Bought the stove a new burn pot. 35ish tons and the first one had cracks in its welds. Might last another season but didn’t want to chance it.

Saved the old one to see if I could find someone to put a new bead down.

You can tell it's Fall. I'm back....your fair weathered friend :D I have been busier this year than when I was working. 7 days a week if I wanted. Not much camping due to covid so I figured I may as well make some money.
Being on the seacoast I don't usually get as cold as you guys inland but last night it was 60 in the casa so I turned the stove on. Fired right up. I have to pull my exhaust venting and clean it but other than that the stove is ready to go. I still have my AC's in but they will come out next weekend.

48* this morning when I got up. But, it looks to be the nicest day I can remember all year. Not a cloud in the sky, low humidity, and a nice little breeze.....a gorgeous day in the Piedmont.

We had a cold snap and pulled our window A/C, wish we hadn't very warm again and the smoke from the wildfire is terrible! Blowing straight over the house. (a/c) helps with the smoke a bit). smh.
