We are on vacation, so we didn't witness the storm firsthand, but have found several pics from around the county. Even made coverage on 2 news channels. Our county received between 7-10" of rain Wednesday might. Schools, roads closed, some trees down, middle school and houses flooded.

Several yards were like this. One friend had a video paddling his kayak in the yard. FB_IMG_1600387915111.jpg The fire ants know how to survive. That is a clump of ants floating around FB_IMG_1600388884043.jpg
A couple more roads...don't know if they were hurt in the vehicle FB_IMG_1600388978770.jpg FB_IMG_1600390121154.jpg
Don't know if flooding was involved, but NS Railroad had a few cars de-rail in the county today, too.

Hard to like that. The weather has been crazy. I guess I should be happy that we need rain badly up here.

That’s an unbelievable amount of rain and flooding. Very sorry to hear about the devastation to your community down there. I wish you and your loved ones the best as you all pick up the pieces and rebuild.

The power of water. And here we are, in a severe drought.

I hope your property is undamaged.

That’s really sad. I helped clean up a school after a flood. There are all sorts of awful things in that water, gas, diesel and anything else that got flooded. It leaves a terrible film on everything.

I hope everything is OK at your house, and that you can get home safely. Awful that so many communities got the same amount of flooding, or more.

I was staying at Fort Morgan AL when it hit. The west eye wall passed directly over our house. We are fine but things are pretty tore up down here.....not going to have power for a while either.

It was supposed to be a TS that hit New Orleans so we decided to stay.....but turned into a cat 2 that we took on the chin. The one road in to this house got blocked off so we got stuck....heading home first thing in the AM.

Stared/working at first I thought it was just a typo and was going to let it go. Then I thought about it; it actually accurately describes most road construction crews I have witnessed
