    Replaced our stove today.
Dinner was made in the crockpot during the install, and the curing cycle.
House has the confusing smell of soup and oven clean.
    Yuck

I worked for one for 28yrs. It wore me down to think I might spend the rest of my career with him.
2020 is the year that finally got him. Pathological liar, completely incompetent and useless.
With each new director I would think surely this is the one to figure out this guy has no business managing a trip to the bathroom let alone people. Director #4 dropped the hammer. What a godsend!
It was hard working for someone who knows nothing about what I do, or how anything works, or how anything gets done.
Trees, chainsaws, wood, splitting and stacking work wonders for the mind and body.
Went to the gym every day at lunch too when there was such a thing.

I sgree...why wouldn't you change jobs Chud ...I would take an enormous pay cut to get out of that situation...Of course he and I most likely would have had a confrontation after a couple months that would have lead to my demise at that company!

Nope, not something I can do. At my last job I started looking for a new place of employment when I got a boss I couldn't stand - I actually stayed 1.5 years after he started because they couldn't keep a quality engineer, so it would have been a real burden on the company. Although why that mattered was only a matter of principal on my side since upper management and those that got ahead were pathological liars. I think God was having me to wait for my present job to become open - and I never would have found it if I hadn't been where I was at the time (strange how sometimes that works out).

I am so much happier where I'm at now and love my boss. Doesn't hurt that the pay is better. Not that life is perfect - I put in long hours, but I'm not unhappy and not nearly so stressed.

Bear hit my birdfeeder Tuesday night. First time in 7 years I have been at this house that this has ever happened (when I lived in the boonies I kept an early warning, sacrificial feeder out at the edge of the woods. Actually, the birdfeeder was fine, it was the fence panel, the cast iron pole that the feeder was on and the 6' T-post.

See that feeder, it is just fine. But you can see the T-post behind the fence that is laying almost horizontally

    Fence panel leaning.jpg

This is the second time that panel has been bent all to h*ll - fishingpol should remember what it looked like once he got the willow tree cut off of it in 2017. He was able to get it straightened enough at that time that I could still use it - it just had a kink at the top. You can't see thru the vine that this bend put a second kink in it.
    Fence panel bent.jpg

Yep, heavy duty T-pole bent all to chit. I had already jumped up and down on the panel to straighten it out. Unfortunately, the two kinks keep it from being anywhere near rigid or being semi self-supporting. there is a wicked bow at the top (left). The bottom is now angled from the center pole - it can't be seen well in this picture, but the center pole is about 6" lower than either end. It could possibly be slvaged, just way more time would be invested than it is worth.

I bought the fencing used back in 2013, so it has done its duty. Only issue is that finding one 10' x 6' panel is a problem - local Agway doesn't have any in stock even after checking their 6 stores. And, deliveries from mfg are almost impossible apparently. I'll have to check CL. At least it is a lot easier to keep a cat indoors while the fence is down than if I still had a dog :)

bogieb that is too bad and a little too close for comfort by the house.

Can the bottom of the fence get cut at the base with an angle grinder and cleaned up? A smaller metal pipe may be able to get dropped in and and sleeve it together.

    2nd wife, kids, mortgages
Loved my job and employer, extra good benefits
    Wife’s job and family
Would have to relocate to Raleigh, or Charlotte and the cost of living would have negated a higher salary.
The pros outweighed the biggest con
Now I just have to survive the covid downturn. My employer is looking for voluntary retirements and leave without pay. Hoping that doesn’t turn into forced retirements and leave without pay.

Hope y’all brought your rain gear, or raft. Weather ought to be nicer this weekend, but nothing is guaranteed in the hills.

I hope that white glass top stove is the one taken out. I had one. It was a wonderful unit with two ovens. But it was nearly impossible to keep it clean. I change out and and now have gas stove. LOVE it. So easy for me to clean up after a boil over. Whomever designed this stove knew what they were doing.
