None of mine are Mtronic. When i got my 261 off ebay last Summer it was supposed to be Mtronic. Went to dealer and asked to trade for mtronic. They talked me out of it. Lots of tree guys bringing them back with issues. Ive heard that the 201 is nor well like and old 200's are bringing good money

The earlier versions were horrible the newer 201 are better but any kind of problem they have to go to a stihl dealer to get tested or calibrated which means if you are depending on them you better have a couple of spares in your fleet not a problem for commercial users but for firewood cutters that could be a hassle some of my smaller tree companies do not have the luxury of having 2 or 3 spares of all saws gets expensive fast JB

I bought a new Kombi 131R late June... after going to the shop 4x’s, they finally replaced the carb and now it seems to run great. Thing didnt even have 1 tank of fuel thru it that entire time. The mechanic mentioned stihl is hard to get to authorize warranty repairs? I dunno first stihl issue and it didnt go smooth!

I use a 201t not mtronic and it’s been a great saw. It’s my 2nd and have not had a problem or dislike with them. I don’t even think about the 200t anymore. I went through 3 200t’s and they were great saws, but I think the lasting hype is overblown. Good for folks selling hammered 200t’s.
The only problem I’ve ever had with Stihls is the reduced bar oil output and wearing out bars sooner than I was accustomed to with older stihls.
I’m confident my Stihl dealer would make things right if I ever had a mechanical.
Kind of weird for me to even read about someone having issues with a pro Stihl, just has not been my experience. Not saying anything can outlast years daily professional use.
There is another brand I’ve wanted to throw out of the tree, or through the chipper, because I was hot and tired and the last thing I need is a saw that won’t cooperate. I know that is not everyone’s experience, but it’s the one that made me a Stihl guy.

I got my first Stihl at aged 17...an 028 and have loved them ever since. Always have worked well for me. I do some tree/chain saw work and feel your frustration about a saw not working when you need it to. Always nice to have several saws too as i have learned. Was always one saw guy until CAD kicked in.

The saw was delivered to our house Friday evening. The mechanic explained that the gasket between the carburetor and the saw body was half blocking the passage. Cut some cookies of a 8x8 timber and it screams through the cut. And when it was warm, it starts first pull - no throttle required.

Yes problem originated at the factory. Not enough intake to get full rpm also requiring full throttle to start when warm. From now on, when I take a saw in for repair, I will send a typed work order.

Well, it sucks about the QC issue, but glad to hear you have a properly running saw now.

Took the 439 woodcutting today. I was making firewood out of old yellow cedar railway ties( 8x8's). It cut good for the first 6 or so cuts then started stalling in the cut again. :hair: As the saw warms up, the rpms start dying off! Since the middle of June to last week, the saw has spent 10 weeks at the dealer's shop. I think I've bought a LEMON!:startled:Any ideas on what might be going wrong now?:faint:
