With baseball crazy kids and a forest full of poison ivy, I decided to get creative with some of the stacks. We lose fewer balls, it keeps them out of the poison ivy, and kids love hitting over a fence. Being Pirates' fans we just had to have that notch in left-center.

Good idea for the kids and I bet all that wood is a great feeling with winter not that far off.

Nice, baseball with my boys will always be my fondest memories. Enjoy every minute of it. The wood wall is awesome! Don’t want to run into it though. lol

That’s father of the year status right there. I assume they’re playing wiffle ball with the house being so close to the left field line?

  8. that is a pretty awesome field

Poison ivy sucks. Just getting over a bout of it now after three weeks of scratching. Kind of relieved it's PI though... For a while I thought I had bed bugs cause I couldn't see what was causing the bites.
Nice solution for two problems by the way.

Hey 303Bourbon, if there's a cold winter, will there be a drive into the gap?

For now it's still tennis balls, but next year we'll have to cut over to wiffle balls for sure.

Lol. A cold winter puts right field at risk. Most of the wall will be used 2021/2022.

Hang a net to protect the house when it’s time to start jacking hard balls over the fence.

Very cool and creative. Good thing you're not a Red Sox fan (green monster for those non baseball fans) although you'd probably have a lot more firewood if that was the case.
    Great thread 303Bourbon !
