Below is a pick of yesterday’s score - a truckload or Ash from the town yard waste site. It’s already spit and stacked - I’m now a bit bushed. One more truckload like that and all my stacks\shed areas will be full - 17.5 cords. Typical winters here thats just over 4 years worth of wood - what a great feeling! Eleven cords of this total has been split and stacked in the last year. 3/4 of it Ash, the rest a mix of Oak, Silver Maple, and a sprinkling of Pine.

Here are a few more pics of the stacks - neighbor had some left over siding he gave me so I made some racks - each holds ~one core of wood. I built these in September 2019 -pics are from then. You can see one of the racks is not full yet. In background you can see portions of a lean-to wood shed built off the side of an out-building

Always nice to get something useful that was discarded. Wood from the dump. Still have t tried that but I’m sure a lot of the wood I did get would have had a similar fate.
    Good score on the ash.

If I had those...in which I have had before.....I would simply set them aside "as is" for 2 yrs.......They would become my "Night Wood"..I throw them in whole...They would burn with my damper on 2 for about 6-7 hours...:)

Yesterday I was across the road and found a large limb broke off a huge oak. Trouble is it is still fastened. Maybe I can get a picture.
