Very few things I hate more,
    than replacing/upgrading/installing electronics.
Trying to get things all working together is such a PITA...
Like you say.. so much stuff is app driven.
Get a new tv, and man it is so frustrating.
"go to computer.. enter passcode on tv screen..
or send code to mobile phone number.. blah... blah... blah..."
    Especially for those like me,
that do not consider themselves to be much more than computer illiterates..

When I went to school, we were using slide rules for math problems...
Not a ton of help on setting up modems and routers..

My last year of high school, basic calculators were just becoming affordable to the public. We were we were not allowed to use them . The only computer that I knew was the punch card big main frame at the aircraft company where my mom worked as and engineer.

Glad you got you issues resolved.
These sort of things can be unnerving for sure.

We do not have Cable, Fios, or such available where we live..... which leaves few choices.

    Satellite or cellular

I went with a Verizon cellular router a few years ago.

Sadly Verizon stopped selling them.....and they offer nothing but the little portable hot spots.......

These do not work out here at all.

I do hope my router does not die......

The gal that rents my downstairs had a Sat dish installed and I can grab it, but the latency causes grief with my email handler.

    Always something eh .???

    Yeah....We survived...

A pretty good fire last night blew up about 3-4 miles from here.

    Level 3 evac delared.

WE got a good much needed sleep last night.

I was dead tired after being up most of the night Mon into Tuesday....

Until we get a good rain we are not out of the woods yet......

The last couple days have been one for the record books for sure.

We got power back early afternoon yesterday.

Was sweet to get a nice hot bath and a good nights sleep....

    And the saga continues...
