Welcome to the site - advise - get a splitter. I’m 55, had white color jobs all my life but played hard. Now... stuff just hurts even just sitting on the couch! Anything you can do to cut down on body wear and tear is a good thing.

I started out delivering with a 5x10 trailer that I made rails on out of some used 2x4s I was given. I pulled the trailer with a Saturn vue lol. It’s what I used to pull my mower as well. I had to order the entire tow package online to hook up to the Saturn and it worked well enough. But then a man that I sold 900$ worth of firewood to asked if I was interested in this 2005 Dodge Ram quad cab with 103xxx miles and it was also 4x4. I thought he would ask around 6000$. I was able to buy it for 2500$ and I love it.

I had never done it really but I made a bench for my kids out of some logs and I loved making it. So I just started using the wood that I was getting to make things like benches, tables, picture frames, fence posts, sign holders, table and more. And I had a lot of people interested in buying them as well when I advertised them online.

Lol. Yeah that cat seemed to enjoy the swing! Thank you! I encourage everyone to try woodworking. There’s so much wood out there for free and so many uses for it! It’s profitable in more ways than one.

Lol. Thanks metalcuttr! They motivate me, that’s for sure. They are a blessing! And the older of the two boys is my partner we say, lol. He tags along on the firewood trips and has an interest in working at a young age. I’m very thankful for that! And thank you, I love woodworking. It’s something I plan to get bigger into as well. Some of the hand made log bed frames sell for thousands! And it’s handy when you have kids because you can make them lots of things that they can enjoy for years to come.
