I totally agree with you. My 2nd GTG was a year and a half ago at Backwoods Savage aka Dennis. Turned out to be epic. leoht is from down under. He and his father flew. In for it. Dennis lives in Michigan. Midwinter flew in from Connecticut. We counted about 73 that showed up for the weekend. Families and dogs are welcomed.
Well your obviously that better generic stock I mentioned. I am getting the inkling your warning light is beginning to flash tho Take care buddy.
Nothing special. I used a 170 stihl last year and then upgraded to a stihl 251. It has worked great so far for what I need.
Thank you for the welcome and I appreciate the advice! I have family that have told me once your really hurt your back it doesn’t ever fully get better so I try to use good form when I do things. But I do agree that over time we all wear down! Hopefully I’ll be able to go for many years to come. Thanks again and take care!
That’s great that you all get together like that! I do see that I’ve stumbled into something a lot better than I expected! I would like to meet people that have an interest in firewood and firewood business! I’m sure there’s a lot I could learn. I have a long ways to go still but I absolutely love it. I’m ready for mowing to be over with already so I can start splitting and delivering again!
Stihl had a sale on the 170 in April and i bought one...$170 out the door. Perfect for limbing, cutting smalls. If you cut a lot of wood having multiple saws is a plus. Some for certain tasks and a back up if one goes down. Three years ago i had two saws (one i almost never used) and now i have seven. A word of warning...CAD (chainsaw acquisition disorder) as its known on here can be catchy as i found out.
Welcome to the FHC Fourwinds1717 You have gotten a lot of good advice so far at some point in the future you will want a good pro saw! In 10 years or so you will re read this and say the same thing every youngster says why didn’t I listen xx. Years ago Great work ethic and tenacity
PPE FTW! Love it. I saw Wranglerstar do a video on testing chaps wrapped around a log......using a chainsaw.......without wearing chaps.....He responded to my comment saying "Don't you have anything better to do?".....And he was right........I did........And unsubscribed. I wear hearing protection when using the sledge and the wedge......and even though I use a cordless 14" chainsaw I still wear a helmet, earmuffs, chaps, and gloves.
Welcome to the forum.. I did roofing for a living for many years and you really pay for it later as the guys say. Im getting a small splitter for home use just to save whats left of my where and tare.
No wonder everybody gives him their trees....if he looks like that when he goes to ask for them, they all "take whatever you want man, just don't hurt us!"
Maybe this one is better??? Kinder, gentler buZZsaw??? For those that dont know, that was my spoof on the character from the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie "The Running Man" A FHC photoshopped this one!
