A couple week ago I'd seen some signs of ips bark beetle in a few of our trees up at Goldwater Lake. Sure enough they began to fade in color and it was time to get them down and out of the area. Sorry there aren't more pics we were kind of busy. Two 70ft and a few other smaller ones. IMG_20200820_120804644_HDR[1].jpg IMG_20200820_120900207_HDR[1].jpg IMG_20200820_123016393_HDR[1].jpg

Did you keep the wood to burn? That's good stuff.

Unfortunately no, time was an issue and it was best to leave the trunk in large sections and remove it from the area. The beetles were still in the trees so we took everything and buried it at another location outside of the forest. Hopefully we won't have too many more pines dying inside the park this year. The forest in and around the park is thin enough.
