image.jpeg We've all had them, and boy do they ever hurt. Sometimes the smallest are the worst! The other day when I opened my gate, I jammed one into my thum, just under the thumb nail. It felt like a 2x4 but, was pretty small by some slivers I've had before. Here's a picture of the " little devil" lol Took my daughter about 3 tries to get it out. But, it was all worth it, I got a dandy load of some really nice Doug fir. And the good thing, my thumb's not throbbing any more!!

    Ouch...Under the nail sucks!

I got a fairly large splinter stuck in my finger this weekend but I did not save it.

I've got dissecting tools and microscope just for splinters...gives you a certain sense of satisfaction pulling the little buggers out under the scope

I had one a couple years ago that I could not get out of my finger. Then I got a piece of it and thought I had it but it was sore so I thought it had infection. Doctor visit and a round of antibiotics, and I was due so got a tetanus shot. Felt a little better and then it started bothering me again. Made another doc appt and figured we may have to xray, the night before I went the side of my finger split open and out popped the chunk of wood.

    Ouchy!

Did the same thing a couple summers ago. Right in the tip of my right pointer finger. Got part out. Then a few weeks later another part came out. (After washing dishes and a hot shower)
Still hurts every now and again if i bump it right...
Maybe there's scare tissue or just a tiny bit left.

Reminds of my wife's encounter with a Joshua Tree plant...the dreaded "jumping cactus" aka Teddybear cactus.
