The first picture (0728) is the southend of the road and the last picture is where the northend use to be.
It actually was a dirt road at one time, whatever they did they got down to the rocks/ledge and cleaned it off pretty good.
We've been down three times since the first picture, it looked like all the drilled holes are packed today when we went by. The next time we go I'll get a picture. I thought that I heard a rumbling noise when I was outside working today but it must've of been Fort Drum taking some target practice with something big.
Judging from the bedrock and as close as it is to the roadbed, you can understand why it was only a gravel road! What a mess!
Welcome back, how's 99 and the rest of the family doing? We came in from a different road today, the did blast some of that area but I think that was done before the picture, it's above what's in the picture I posted.
No change in popping the top off these rocks, we were down there today. It still looks like all the holes are drilled and packed but not much action going on unless it's way up top.
We'll take another ride down soon, I'll check that fuse out... Backwoods Savage gave me the instructions since he defused the blonde bombshell years ago!
You're up by Fort Drum? A friend of mine had a place in Lowville (New Bremen actually) We used to go up there in the summer and mess around on the bikes and quads all weekend. Some of the most fun trails I've ever been on. Nice area.
They're about 1:30 hours south but they fly in our area all the time, it's a good feeling when those fighter jets you see are ours.
Ahh so you're up pretty far north then. It's not too often I get to see the jets themselves but from where I sit, the assembly line for the F135 engines for the joint strike fighter is only a few hundred feet away
They've buzzed the treetops over the house a few times in the past, I couldn't imagine what it would be like with them releasing some bombs on a target.
