Massive red oak log guess the weight of a chunk

    Gonna post these pics in that thread but I wanted to make a game of it. Closest gets a case of virtual coldies or other beverage of choice, lol. This is red oak btw.

    It was just cut this evening and it’s cut pretty straight. So guess the weight. ;)

    PS Always soak your red oak in water for a few weeks prior to splitting. Makes em pop apart like butter.

    Pretty amazing. Figure you were getting about 14 of those chunks from each round. Shows you just how much firewood you’re dealing with. I’d be interested to know the amount of cords you end up with total from the whole tree.
