This is the first stack I split at our new place during construction two years ago. In order to keep it out of the way of construction I stacked it in the woods, down over the bank with no plans of how to retrieve it.

A wagon, a rope, a snatch block, a tractor and a Hound dog to supervise.

Get a scoop of stone or dirt in your bucket then back the trailer right in down.

Pretty sure I'd end up with a tractor over the bank with no plan to retrieve it:faint:

I've got a few OCD genes kicking around in my genome. There are exactly 74 stairs into the lab from the exact same parking spot I use at work, so now that you've brought it up...I'll have to get back to you.:wacky:

Just my .02 worth and I've been wrong before. It doesn't look terribly steep, but pictures can be deceptive. I would drive the tractor and trailer down, fill the trailer and the bucket. The wood in the bucket should be enough weight. If the tractor gets stuck, you can still use your snatch block to pull both up assuming you have a vehicle top side that can pull the tractor. However, you are the only one that can determine your safety threshold.

That's what I was thinking as well... But I will do some stuff that makes others cringe at watching with machinery lol

What I was thinking too...the perspective in the 4th pic doesn't look to bad...probably still high pucker factor the first couple times since your not used to it though...weight in the front bucket and keep it down low is key for going back up the hill...and I would go down the hill forward so the front bucket could be dropped if there was any uncontrolled sliding going on (doubtful) and in 4x4 both ways. I like your current idea though too!
    My 2 cents. :D

I can second the opinion pics don’t always tell the tale. Had a hill my atv couldn’t pull a fully loaded log arch up but in the pics it looked flat LOL
Maybe get a couple trucks of gravel and build a ramp down? All depends on how much property you own down there. Access is everything.

15.5 wagon loads, just over 2 cords.

love the garden you made! I do think that the tractor would have no issues with that, but you did find a way to do it without driving down there.

Nice. Looks like you only lost 1 or 2 pieces.

Your cart looks like the same one we use to bring wood into the house.

    Boy, I was way off!

At the beginning, I half-expected you to harness up the hounds!

It's a big wagon, wood stacks look smaller and slopes not as steep but people look fatter on camera:picard:

That would not have been very productive...they would've just looked at me like OK now what? When they are outside just hanging out, I set a timer and call them every 30 minutes.

    Nicely done.

Boy, you have done alot since I was last up there.

I'll have to try to get up there. Maybe October, for my brother's birthday. I'll have to swing by and say hello, and check out the digs.

Works good. Your tractor would have no issue doing that hill. But we all have our own comfort levels and you found a good way to do it so keep up the good work!
