Plenty of unsuspecting victims out there that would put a blanket down in the back of their Volvo SUV and take a couple of these home, thinking they got the deal of a lifetime.

I'm surprised they're not cutting the twisted cull wood and bundling into firewood bags.

See that all over around here with people selling similar-sized bundles of firewood by the road for $5 or $6.00. Not sure what it's like in AZ but here it's geared towards the (*#&$%) tourists for their campfires. Even local gas stations sell them and that's pretty much the going rate. It's definitely caveat emptor as most people would have no clue what type of wood they're buying or if it is even dry enough. I'm sure there are those who have weekend homes that purchase some of these to have fires in their fireplaces during their ski trips but then again, if you can afford a second home just to go skiing, you can afford $6.00 bundles of firewood at a box store.

Our state has restrictions on bringing firewood in from out of state, and there are restrictions on what you can and can't cut for campfire wood, so these bundles are sold year-round here.

I wholesale them. Mine arent as "pretty" but the wood is all hardwood and dry.
Have four local convenience stores i stock. Ive tried retailing on CL with little success. Common sight in front of stores around here.

This is the price of mass produced individually packaged government regulated firewood.

If you were trying to supply these thousands of cords of bundled firewood and had to hire the people and equipment to process it all at these volumes and meet all the government regulations and make margins to make it profitable at the same time this what your product would cost.

    Apples and oranges.

I’m curious about the restrictions about campfire wood?

I'm definitely interested in getting into that racket. I live near a lake association with lots of summer cottages, and I'd like to start selling bundles at some point.

Those bundles are for people who just want some atmosphere in the fireplace. They are not serious about heating their homes with wood and have no ambition to put in the amount of work and time to do so. Like many of you I laugh when I see those bundles at gas stations and other places for sale. I have in laws like that and would love it if I handed over some wood for them to burn every year. Not happening.

The biggest problem with restriction is,how does one police it? Probably 90% pay no attention.

One or two years they did set up a check as people came away from the toll gates and wow! You should have seen the piles of firewood. Can you imagine people coming from Detroit or one of our southern border states and having to give up that precious firewood they'd hauled a couple hundred miles?!

I have a friend who has a campground close to him. His daugter put herself through college by selling there, and yes, she did the work except for the cutting.

I had a couple hipsters stop last fall that we’re going camping and asked to buy some of the wood I had split down by the road.

I told them let’s go up the driveway and get some dry stuff... kids looked at the piles and were like what do you do with all this?
Heats my house, I hooked them up with at least $24 worth of those bundles for $10
