Gutting a room in my house and have loads of this stuff. Bone dry and great for starting fires. I got more then I'll use in a long time.
I use stuff like that every day in winter,burn a little even when not needing it just to keep the pile under control.Since I'm always getting more scrap wood from work,twigs/branches from pruning etc. Have a bonfire in your pit or place an ad on CL.Least yours is bone dry/ready to burn,unlike most of the stuff I see listed around here.
If it was me, I'd burn the painted pieces in an outdoor fire pit, just so no one torched them off in-doors in January. The rest, miter saw them to 10", they should stack pretty tight. Use what you want, give away the rest. But......you may want to hold on to it. You'll burn it quicker than you thought. Looks like great October wood.
I'm not keeping the trim just the lath, I've got a lot more to gut in this house so I'll have much more. I'll probably be stacking it in the attic of my barn so I won't be splitting any kindling for a long time. Really like that stuff for staring outdoor fires too
That lath is sweet. I'd hoard it too. As for the rest, just cut to length and use it in early fall for those quick hot fires. It took us a couple years to get rid of all ours but it really worked out nice.
Yeah Sean, whatcha' workin' on? We're nosy, doncha know. That looks like prime firestarter material for Oct. and April. I go through a couple banana boxes of kindling cut to about 12" every year.
My house is an 1880 build, bought it as a foreclosure. Whole house needs restored. So far I restored the dining room and main floor bath. Rebuilt garage, put in windows, and a bunch of insulation and electric in the finished dining and bath room. Currently working on what had been maids quarters. It was a bedroom closet and nursery, and will be turned into a master suite with bathroom and walk in closet.
