Got a bad case of CAD back in April and bought three saws. It subsided but has flared back up again. FHC member jo191145 had a sweet 361 he offered me back in April which i agreed to buy. My 460 suffered some blunt impact trauma on Sunday and need a larger CC saw for a tree job im doing.
The owner he purchased it from bought it new and never cut wood with it. Joe had maybe a ten tanks of gas through it so its not even broken in. Ran it for 15 minutes today and love it.
Met with him last night and am the new owner. 18"Stihl bar and 22" Carlton Screenshot_20200813-092230_2.png
Only pic took at dusk last night and didnt realize it came out so bad.
361 is a 59cc pro model saw. Precursor to the current 362 for those not well versed in Stihls.
I told him he has visitation rights! Thanks for a great saw JOE!

Nice saw! 361 is a great saw in stock form. Properly tuned will pull a 28 inch bar in softwoods all day long. Brad your getting to many stihls in your stable! Remember Sweden makes some killer saws also.

Nothing against Husky, but have owned Stihl's since 1985 and they have given me great service. Im usually brand loyal. It will be wearing a 28" bar later today.

    28" ?

Make sure you pizz rev it between cuts to get some oil on the bar. I upgraded my oil pumps on all my 361/2's I've had with the pump guts from a 461R oil pump. Or just swapped pumps.

    Thanks for the advice!
Its just to fell and buck a 22" DBH sugar maple spar. I could do it with the Carlton 22" bar it has now but it's an awkward spot and like to fell in one swath. It will normally wear the 22" Carlton it came with. What bar length do your 361/2's normally wearSAWMIKAZE?

My ported ones have ran 20-24" for the most part.

Don't set your hopes too high with a stock one pulling 28"
