Stepson, his wife, and kids are now evacuating.o_O Fires are getting to close to house in Azusa, CA. Some prayers for all those people out there would be appreciated.

Prayers up. And more for their sanity, being evacuated is so much harder than it looks on TV interviews. I pray their home is protected. I heard a blurb there are already slurry bombers either on the way or already there.

She sent us a video of choppers dropping water on the hills right behind their house. One right after the other. 4 in a row in a quick video. They must have a LOT of choppers and planes working.

I think they went to stay with her parents. Step grandson is autistic. But knows Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt there very well. Has spent a lot of time with his Mom’s family. They will be well cared for. (Spoiled. I mean, loved. Loved.)

Even a gas powered OBS Ford will bring good money these days if its clean...start adding diesel, extended cab or 4 door, etc, look out! :makeitrain"
My neighbor was looking for a nice 96 or 97 PSD after his was wrecked, he found a very low mileage (25k IIRC) mint condition 4 door 4x4 XLT...the dealer was asking something like $3k less than the MSRP on the original window sticker! And it sold, fast! :faint:

Oh good!! We spent hundreds on duplicate things from the house like fingernail clippers and paper cups and plates, and so much more. Awesome, Grandparents and aunt can watch the kids when parents go the to briefings.

I think it was mid 30's...and they were asking $32k (?) for it.
That truck now is probably more like $76!
Now sure if you caught when I was talking about the new truck my buddy's friend bought a few weeks back...brand new Ford Tremor (diesel) Platinum...stickered for $110k! He talked 'em down to $96k :faint:

    Can't wait for tomorrow afternoon.
Gonna be attending a job-walk on a remodel. Of course, it's in Vail and there is no parking. Have to park in one area and walk in about 10 minutes.
Soooo..... during construction, where are the trades and cranes going to park?? Lord I tell you, construction in the hills has gone to chit.
Champagne dreams on a PB&J budget. I need to finalize my CDL .

G.J.has a good one north of town , that's where most of the smoke is coming from. It will burn until it snows, they won't really try to put it out. There will be structure protection in certain areas, but for the most part it's a wildland burn.
The other one is around Glenwood Canyon. Very tough terrain, they'll let that go for a bit, then knock it down when it get's to accessible roads on the plateaus. It will be tough to contain due to terrain.
Lots of haze and smoke smell here, sunlight is orange in the afternoon, I like it. Brings me back to my youth, my CDF days.

My FB page pulled up a post from this time in 2016 - got 4" of rain, which was well needed because we were in drought then. Even the swamp next door was dry. Seems like this year is a repeat except I can't buy rain. Been faithfully getting 1/4" of rain per week since June - this week the skies didn't even bother trying to produce precipitation :tears:
