Haven't bumped the thread in a week or so...we have been doing a little something. Here's a few to prove it...... Delivered a load of oak to a customer for outside cooking & oyster roaster Next day we split 2 truck loads on the dump trailer for another customer, delivered it Left his house and dropped this dying oak for another friend. Got a decent amount of wood from it... Another day, we set up the splitter on the calico shed Midwinter ... Started on this pile of hickory Using a trick from jrider since these are smaller logs We got about half the stack bucked and staged I reused the lights from our old chicken pen and mounted them high on the ceiling Making some progress, 8' walls Yep, I'm learning to crib the ends And a really good friend and his wife gave us a little treasure. It was her dad's, they found it when cleaning out some of his buildings. Put gas in it and it cranked up, he has been gone since 2012.
Thanks for the update! I bet it smells great in the calico shed. It really is huge. Is that your first Husqvarna?
Some of the hickory smells like a horse...lol... Dad had an old Husky 65 when I was a mid teen, so probably 42 yrs since I ran one. I do have a Husky trimmer and blower though.
Glad Chaz found that. His is similar, I think his is round. Haven't seen it in action, maybe this fall.
Made it back to the woodyard last night after work. Started about 8 and stopped about 11:15. We finished the hickory we had bucked. Shed when we started Splitter area When we finished, should be enough for 3 - 8' tall rows when stacked The ol' goat was climbing... The splitter foot mod is working good on the stringy pieces.
You like to stay on top of things Jeff and it shows! Does the thinner air up that high season the wood faster? Great work my friend!
