Brad? Joe Valenti? Just north of the East Haddam Bridge. Two big locusts down on the side of the road. Any interested parties in the area?
Thanks for thinking of me Joe, but ive been busy with chain saw work from the storm since it ended. Lots of dump runs with brush. Got a couple locust scores lined up as an indirect result of the storm. Did you guys get power yet?
Hi Joe, did you/are you getting the locust? If so its all yours. Im too busy here but its tempting. Nearly 40 minute ride for me one way. jo191145 knows i have locust mania (its a real FHC disorder) and likes to get me riled up about it. If i was closer id give you a hand with it.
I'm glad you won't let that premium firewood go to waste! I was almost tempted myself since I work in Middletown, and it would only be a few miles farther for me... But I've got my hands full as it is with everything in my own backyard. Not to mention there are a few smaller locusts down in my area anyway. Lately my saw is always in the truck with me "just in case" I drive by something worth taking. What that boils down to is pretty much every single time I leave my house, I come home with SOMETHING in the bed of the truck LOL. Happy hoarding man!
I’ll say one thing. It won’t be there long. State road blocking a driveway to riverside residences It’ll be top priority if you get my drift. Better hustle Joe
I called the property owner and left a message after I called the neighbor by accident thinking it was one property. When I called the first house I said I was not sure if it was theirs or their neighbors in the message. Then Joe said it’s a separate address and I looked her up and called. I used to cold call or show up and knock to do insurance revaluation so I’m used to it, but rusty. I don’t know how to proceed from here. Should I go there and knock on the door or call again tomorrow? I won’t have to have the kids tomorrow like I did today. I am open to suggestions. I’m worried going to the door is too forward in plague times. I cannot tell how she will react. I would do it if you think it would not be too much.
I'm thinking I'll drive by earlier in the AM and call from down the road at the library tomorrow at a more reasonable hour like 8-9AM. Unless out give me some advice to do something different.
That sounds like a good idea! I leave notes in the mailbox, which works well for me, but time is of the essence for you.
I’m no expert but I’d ring the bell and back off a respectable distance. Think that’s the best you can do in these times.
I wear long sleeves every day and two shirts. Color is irrelevant. I'm going to stop back in a bit and knock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've called and left a card so far, I want the wood, but I am resourceful and some people would find it creepy that I am able to find out so much about someone from public records on the internet. I don't want to alarm or harass the property owner. I don’t think I should call again. This may get away, but I also don’t want to be a nuisance in pursuit of wood. If someone else wants to take a shot at knocking on the door go for it. If you’re there let me know, I live a few minutes away on 151 I can assist or offer a cold beverage or something. You could also drop a little here for Joe if she lets you take it, he should get a finder’s slice and he knows where I live..
