Got a bunch of this wood today from the blow down in town. I’m not really sure what it is, but I have a feeling it’s a lower BTU wood. It was incredibly easy to cut it up so I grabbed a bunch. What do you guys think?
Leaves look like big tooth or trembling aspen. Have never cut any of it myself so I can’t speak about the wood itself

Going with bigtooth aspen also. Had some in a stack a few years ago. Ended up giving it to a coworker for camping. Remember reading it popped a lot and him confirming that. Will say this from some of his stories, popping may have been beer cans or bottles
