Here's the deal. I'm looking to add another firearm to the collection.

My 2 current interests are a ruger super Blackhawk hunter in 44mag or an AR 556 in the same 7 to 800$ price range.

I reload 44 and have dies and brass for 223.

The 44 would be a deer slayer and paper killer.

The ar purpose is a paper killer and shtf piece.

Problem is I really only have a 75yds range so the ar wouldn't ever get to stretch out. Honestly the only reason it's even being considered is bc they are cheap cheap cheap right now.

    Sooooooo. What should I get?

SBH simply because it'll be useful.

I am going to look at a used stainless super redhawk later this week with a 2x leupold scope. It's not the EXACT one I was looking for (6" instead of 8" and a RH instead of BH), but for the $, I GOTTA go look and will probably own it if the seller actually emails me his availability to view it like he said he would.

I have a super redhawk and it is built like a tank. I thought they only came in 7.5" and 9" models? I have the 9".

Ur correct. Seller listed it as 6 inch. I think he measured it from the front of the frame instead of the back because I looked up the length of the scope and it's 8 inches. Compare that distance to the barrel length and it looks to be a 7.5.

I'm going today at 5 with cash in hand. He's asking 650 which is fair considering the scope is worth 200plus.

And I do plan on buying both mattjim. just waiting on deals like this instead of buying new.

I spent last night loading up some 44spl loads in mag cases to break her in this weekend.

    Bought it! It's a 7.5"

The trigger may have been polished up already too. It feels pretty light.

Anything special I need to know regarding cleaning a revolver? All mine are semis.

1st range trip with the SRH was AWESOME!
I had some mild handloads (7gr unique) and let some beginners shoot it first. My little 5' tall girlfriend with her childlike hands included
Then I brought out some factory loaded magnums :dex:
WWB was stout but manageable by all standards.
Had a couple corbon HP's that were surprisingly tame.
Rem. loads were ! I'm talking 12" of flame coming out of the barrel! My GF has a vid, but sadly, I don't so I guess it didn't really happen.
    What a blast (pun intended)

For me, the best part was not chasing brass all over the dayum place:dancer:

Now if I could only get a holster for this beast. Look out whitetails! Im'a coming for you!
