A good day with the family today. State Park was beautiful, weather perfect. Spent some time throwing a frisbee. Swimming. Walking. Snacking. While the kids were away this evening my wife and I got some chores taken care of. She got her horse related stuff done and I used the tractor and mower to cut some of the trails down. The grass/weeds on the trails are long. So I will finish cutting the rest of them tomorrow late afternoon after my daughter and her husband drive out to connect with their flight back home. It’s been so good to see them.

Do you have an angle grinder? If so, a 4" diamond masonry blade runs $15 or so...that would allow you to custom cut the blocks to fit around that root(s)

NO, I don't own one of these and the only person I know who would have one is the Ex - not doing that. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!

Nice work on the wall bogieb. I finally upgraded my wicked smaht phone. I've had the same model for maybe 8 years and gone through some batteries. This one is not really holding the charge for more than a few hours. There are built in apps that can't be moved to the SD card. Internal storage is about maxed and it is just time.

I won't set the new one up until I get a new otter box. New phones are slippery. My old phone has always been in the case, and looks brand new. My hands are always in dirt, drywall dust, sawdust, etc. So the case is a must.

More attic bedroom build work today. Fishing wires for interconnected smoke/carbons is on the ticket today. I really don't like making holes in horsehair plaster and wood lath, but I really have no choice. The plaster is dusty and gritty and can ruin wood floor quickly.

The downstairs hall is giving me the most trouble and the ceiling is looking like Swiss cheese.:whistle:I should have it done today. Have a good day all.

Definitely need some sort of case for the new phone. I can't believe how slippery they are - like they make them to squirt out of people's hands and break as they are getting them out of the box :picard:

I have dropped my phone so many times and the case has done it's job. My phone would look like Gerry Cheevers goalie mask...

As far as this willow root, is it something you can put block up to and bridge over it with the next course of block and back fill with crushed stone/fabric to prevent wash outs?

I have an older circular saw with a diamond blade dedicated for masonry cutting. I used it to build the pizza oven. You are welcome to use it.

Yeah, I'll be bridging it somehow, may use natural stone to work that. Or, could shim up with a piece of slate. Plenty of options - just mulling thru them in my mind. Thanks for the offer of the saw :handshake: - I'll let you know if I decide I need it.
