I remember them from Texas. Seen them sitting on a picnic table. They are ugly. Lol

Congratulations, I went hydro last year and will not look back. I bought it from a big box store probably one of the display ones out front. Had it delivered and it has been an immense time saver. One of the fine members here put the word out that they were on discount to make room for other seasonal stuff. I did a search and found one about 20 miles from here. Went online, paid for it and then asked the wife.

As the old adage says, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission :)

Congratulations my friend. You will love being Grampy. You get to spoil them, and then let the parents deal with them. Makes some lasting memories with the child.

My fathers birthday had some family members over for a BBQ. Dads 75 so it’s OK to take a day and smell the roses!

Even though it is my off Friday, I did a bit of work today. I mean, real work, not being a desk jockey. Not done, but after 3.5 hours and a sunburn, I'm done for now.

I've had this area smothering weeds since spring. Cardboard is under the landscape fabric.

Materials that I've had since last fall, and tools to tackle the job (did not have my loppers out for the picture, found I needed them to cut tree roots.
    Stones and implements.jpg

The long side facing the swamp. Yeah, there is a weird area that I had to go over a huge tree root either from the willow or the ornamental Plum. Somewhere on this end I need to transition to a lower wall.

The side that took the most time to prep since I had to dig deep and chop willow roots.

From the top of the hill. That end is temporary until I figure out how to deal with the massive willow root and slope and curve it at the same time
    from top of hill.jpg

Top section will be only one stone hig. Actually, I may do that with landscape timber - still trying to figure out my options.
