Got the bathroom gutted, subfloor replaced, and a start on the framing for the new shower and small closet over the weekend. Still need to remove a door and frame up the opening and frame a larger closet...then I can start on all the other work (plumbing, electrical, drywall, paint, flooring, trim).

Weather has been cool and rainy....not hating it compared to a week ago.

The Connecticut department of energy and environmental protection has been saying the same thing for years. I saw one in CT back in 2010 and have talked with quite a few people that have seen them here as well. If they're in CT, they've got to be all over New England.

With this tropical storm churning it's way up the east coast, a part of me is excited about the prospect of trees being knocked to the ground... all that firewood!!! I might have to take the night off of work and be on standby for any trees that might come down close to my house

The department of energy and environmental protection are the same entity?

They are most certainly here it’s just strange that the power's that be won’t accept it. There have been reports of deer carcasses in tree forks, not many animals other than humans that could drag a deer up a tree.

Yeah a few years back in CT we went from having the DEP to DEEP, for whatever reason. Although whenever it comes up in conversation most of us still call it the DEP for simplicity's sake. The big cats are definitely making a comeback here in the east, having been wiped out many generations ago. There was one killed on a highway here a few years ago that had a tag on it. It turns out that it came from somewhere out west (black hills of South Dakota if I remember correctly) So evidently these cougars travel long distances. I suspect there are hundreds or even thousands wandering around that call New England home now.

I saw a large cat one time up the road from my house while out jogging. Talk about make you take notice. It came out of the tall grass on the side of the road, looked to the right, looked to it’s left and saw me, and in two bounds was across the road and into the tall grass on other side and gone. It was not a K-9 of any type. It’s tail was too long to be Bobcat or Lynx.

My brother lives about 6-7 mile away in the country as well. And he saw a large cat with a long tail in a field behind his house once not long before I had my site of one. Maybe we are both :loco:

Sounds like the sightings I've heard of here. The one I saw was crossing the road in front of me. Both sides of the road were nature preserve with hundreds of acres of wilderness. A friend of mine also saw a couple at the edge of a large field near his house, also in an area with miles and miles of uninterrupted woodland habitat.
