    I still think back fondly about the first piece of ash I split. It was pretty well seasoned though I was very green. I learned a lot back then. It’s all in the technique when you’re mauling through it. A slight angle in the right spot, a little English as they say and it will yield to your will. Though I’ve coaxed many more splits since that time, all special in their own way, there was nothing quite as magical as that first one. :rofl: :lol:

    I hear some folk like getting, and splitting their ash vertically...none of this horizontal stuff for them...but I think that is "BS" :whistle:

    I have to admit, I did put a little thought into it! A couple things I either had to reword or face the wrath of the ban hammer... there’s a very narrow path to be walked when talking firewood and innuendo simultaneously :cool:
