    Looks like it could be. Any pics of splits and end cuts if fresh? Great firewood. Ill take beech over oak any day.

    The bark sure does look smooth, grey and thin like beech.

    Red maple can look a bit like beech when it is younger but after a certain age/size the bark usually gets quite coarse.

    Yes, definitely beech. It's great firewood and it smells awesome when burning too.
