Lucky you got some with some size!
We probably caught 100 of them things this week I’d say maybe 6-8 of them were in the 8”-12” range. The rest were nothing but bass bait size. Never thought I’d get mad about catching fish:headbang:

Gotcha. I had yellow perch and walleye in my lake back in Kentucky. Miss that...

I spend a lot of time on the water for fun, work and fishing but unfortunately it's more for work than fun and fishing over the past few years. I have a commercial captains license and spend hundreds of hours a year on the water
Here's a photo of me at work on the St. Lawrence River last year.

That's me piloting the 20' twin engine landing craft just to the starboard side of the Canada Steamship Lines lakers' bow. :) Was mapping the bottom of the river for a fish spawning study.

On the weekends I like to get out in my 14' fishing boat or go for paddle in the kayaks with the wife.

My buddy Larry with the first fish of the day. Rainbow. As were the rest we caught. A nice guided half day near Yellostone with super fighting fish. Great time.

Those are shellcrackers or red ear sunfish. They are big and fight like mike Tyson. I have seen many 3 pounders this year. We don’t keep them unless they weigh a pound or more. I’m gonna say they are #2 behind bluegill as far as table fare. I have caught around 2500 of them since March. I use a cane pole with a slip bobber setup and red worms. Probably the most fun you can have with your clothes on...

Bought that new to me boat at the beginning of July and should have it ready to go tomorrow. Ripped out the old ripped carpeting and installed new, had to replace some wood tops and recarpet. Getting rod holders and various accessories mounted. Been doing it in my spare time, been way too hot to sit and bake on a lake for the last month.

That he did! We only use fiberglass cane poles in the pads. Typically a fish that big will wrap you around the pads and you never see them. I have lost many monsters this year. I use 60 lb braid on my cane poles but once they are wrapped it rips their lips. That’s how they get big. Luckily this one went toward an open spot and I had him hooked behind the tongue. I have broken 7 black widow cane poles in the past 3 weeks. Snapped off! These fish are tough.

Got everything done today, I’ll take and post pics tomorrow. I’m happy, came out pretty good for being done by a hack.

Here she is, ready to go either end of this week or beginning of next. Anybody have any experience with a Mercury 4 Stroke 20 hp? All new to me, not even a shift lever, direction is in the throttle!!!!

Sweet boat! I had one just like that with a 25hp Evinrude two stroke. I kick myself for ever getting rid of it!
I’ve also got the big brother 115 Mercury 4 stroke on my boat and boy is it quiet and smooth!
Never had. A shift lever built into the tiller handle, that’s pretty cool!
