Go to your local sushi joint, a GOOD one, not the Chinese joe blow “Asian fashion” type joint, a real jap sushi joint, and ask for Bluefin Toro sashimi. They won’t always have it. Thank me later!!

My boat cruises at 24 knots (27-28 MPH). But I also fish on a buddy’s center console sometimes, which we can run on calm days about 35 knots, but you have to hold on for you life! ;)

    Prop question!!!!
I’ve got a 17p 3 blade aluminum on now and it does pretty good. I did wing a log last year and put a chip and small crease in the end of one of the blades. Doesn’t effect anything, but if I were to be in the market for one anyone have much insight to a stainless vs aluminum/alloy and 3 vs 4 blade?
18’ welded aluminum fish and ski boat with a 115 hp four stroke on the back. Most of the time it’s either two guys and fishing gear or my wife, two boys and me with a bunch of stuff.
It runs around 36 mph at 5500rpm. I’m happy with that but would like a bit more punch out of the hole. Also once on plane I can hold it on plane down to 12-15 mph. My real annoyance is the massive amount of slow speed wander!!! The 5-10 mph range is horrible!!!

Sounds as though you are about as good as you can get with your current prop. Send it in and have it re-worked. It will come back good as new. I know they can re-pitch or cup props but don't know if they can do it on aluminum. Might not be cost effective. I was going to suggest reducing the pitch by an inch on your present prop. That would not effect top end much but might help slightly out of the hole. A four blade prop that factory matches the performance of your present one should top out about the same but give you more grip on the water for a hole shot. I have four blade props on my beamy Arima because it pops on plane quicker and also because four blades on the main and kicker look cool on the trailer!

metalcuttr is spot on with his assessment. Also, I would leave your max rpm where it is.

I have used these guys......The Delta Propeller Company Deals In Boat Propellers Of All Kinds - Delta Propeller Company
When I designed and built my own boat I put a Honda 225 on the back. I called these guys and described what I had built. Over the phone an engineer nailed what I needed. 4 blade stainless. Hole shot from down below. They can even repair your current prop.

One thing....stainless props don’t give much. Hit something big and your gear case hand grenades.

Don't go with SS. If there's any possibility of hitting anything that's the only kind of prop you don't want. You'll wreck your lower unit.

I'd say go with a 4 blade of the same pitch in aluminum, or a comp prop.

I didn't even read your reply, when I replied. Spot on.

Also, Brandon Scott is spot on about the SS not giving. If you hit something..... Bad expensive news..

Water temps were super warm this week. Most of the fish were mostly deeper 8+ feet down. That was the only top water fish I got. I bounced the frog off the bank and brought it across 6’ of open water. Just before it got to the pads ‘bloop’ it was gone. No explosion unfortunately..... still can’t complain.

Brandon Scott we got into some blue gill and pumpkin seed that I bet we’re pushing two pounds!!! The kind you can’t get your hand around and have to lip like a bass!
