I wish you luck, there are so many here in Wyoming that need a home, ironic and sad.

The dogs here are being brought up from the south. Some were abandoned or wandering the streets down there. The one shelter we have been focusing on has follow up stories of some of the dogs. Amazing transformations and they look so happy.

It’s the north east we have a shortage of animals. Rescue here charge 4 to 5 hundred for a dog!!

We just went through Titan getting his doings done and our vet who is a very cool guy told us they are swamped with animals that first time owners have taken in because of whats going on right now.
He said quite a few of them shouldnt have taken up the job of taking care of their new pets.

Sounds like the pound is gonna be swamped in a short time?

They sure do. Lots of costs running the shelters I imagine. Food, vet care, etc.

I think you got it right. People home with more time on their hands.

Couple of us at work drop off food to the pound once a month as quite often it comes across the radio looking for donations.

I heard a conversation about that exact thing. I hope not, that instead the new owners fall in love with new pets and care for them well, but I have to wonder.

True enough but people here are buying dogs from untrained breeders and getting puppies instead of rescue animals

I see. We would be very happy with a mutt. Most are mixed breeds listed.

Seems like mixed do not have the health issues like the purebreds do?

Very true! Result of untrained or unscrupulous breeders here in states. Germany for example you have to be licensed to breed German Shepherd and as a result no hip dysplasia in breed there. I sure hope Titans good Loon

    labs have weak ACL
    Shepherd have hip dysplasia
    Doberman brain cancer etc etc

I read an article that the Belgian Malnois(sp) is the best breed dog for lack of health problems. With all the lite beer might as well have a lite German Shepard with shorter hair.

They are a gift to us and we must cherish them and care for them. Those who don't do not deserve them!
