Hadn’t heard anything from the wife for a couple hours. So she comes out to the back yard and finds me in the middle of building this.

Well.... Duh! Guess she doesn’t realize that I check in several times a day.
Anyway I got it done and partially filled with the river birch I scored last weekend.

Sandhillbilly , That looks great ! I love the idea of keeping wood species separate. Easier to determine what works best in your stove. Good job.

The jury is still out on the birch. I sure wouldn’t want to split it by hand. Reminds me of cottonwood. Hope it dries enough to try this coming season. Is it more of a shoulder season wood.

In my experience (white/paper birch) 2 years minimum.

Ha:rofl: .... I wish I was organized enough & had time and space to keep each species separate. Just needed another rack/bin cause the others are pretty much full & didn’t want to put this green stuff on top of the dry and ready stuff. Probably fill it up the rest of the way with cottonwood because I got lots of it that needs splitting
