He's a businessman, multi-brand car dealer. He wants to be good to me seeing as how I'm an abutter, and he's apply for a 4th dealership to go in, next to us.
True to their words, work started today. Goal - dig a hole to catch runoff, and redirect it from my property. Boulders were on-site, and pulled from hole. Guessing 5-6 deep, 6-7 ft wide, 20ft long The hole will be lined with some kind of fabric, then fist-sized rip-rap Once collected, there will be 2 pipes channeling water down to the roadway. You can see the exposed corregated pipe that water will be sent to, with a 2nd one.
Day 2 of 2. I don't think there's anymore left to do A view from above my stone wall. Our house on the right Looking back towards the road I hope it gets the job done. Thanks for letting me take this thread in a slightly different direction.
Most have missed here as well. Last week though we had 2 systems hit. 1 dumped 2.60 inches in 1 hour, the other 4.65" in 2 hours. It'l certainly be hot enough for some storms
I still call it WPTZ out of Plattsburgh NY, they said tomorrow afternoon/night we could get some strong winds, hail and a possible tornado. I guess we have a cold front moving in, hopefully we get some rain but the other stuff we don't need.
This tropical disturbance is expected to bring heavy rain and strong wind to the area Tues night into Wednesday.
We need the rain bad, I've never seen it this dry since we have lived here. Glad the severe weather didn't hit your area, we've missed all the high winds so far this summer so we're due for a wind event.
From looking at a picture on Accu that has us in the red zone,we're on the left edge of it. It's still in the high 60's here so we'll need to warm - up and then have the cold front hit before we get anything.
After looking at it again, the left edge of the Severe T-Storm map is well west of us at this time, I'm sure that will change.
