I actually just read that thread last night on there. I was searching Solo/Dolmar stuff on that site and stumbled upon his 7900 build thread, then the 461. He definitely builds a nice work saw (I know there are others that build them as well )
Adam Clarke is something else to watch build too. He was real active when Racesaws was up and running. Glad to see him on my site showing his stuff again too. He builds work and race saws and owns a tree service.
Adam is a great guy, I enjoy discussing all kinds of 'frankensaws' with him on Chainsaw Repair. He is something you don't see often these days HONEST! He calls sometimes early in the AM just to shoot the stuff.
Adam once handed me a 084 to load in truck at Chardon. He won it on a auction fund raiser for RS's site. Rick Helsel from MI met us, Adam from CA in OH at Chardon lumberjack event. To deliver 084. When all said and done Adam said hey Kev just keep the 084 it's yours . It needed alot of work but turned out to be a good strong stock runner. Funny part was couple years later I traded it to another Adam in CA that wanted to build a piped gas racesaw. Adam Clarke ended up making pipe and parts for the saw he gave me. He didnt even know it was the same saw till I told him.
Well you loose track of where things come from and where they went. When I first started doing this I knew where everything came from and where it went. Not anymore, only the wife knows! Since she retired she has set up a DBMS and can tell you the serial number of anything I have ever touched and what I did to it.
