This is a pedestal pump and if you look just above the water you'll see that the column is totally rusted in half and the shaft is exposed. The top is supported by a piece of angle and the bottom is held by the discharge pipe work. Its still running fine......surprisingly.
Bring that sucker over here, in 25 years I bet I have gone thru 7-1hp inside pumps (have a new backup on the shelf in the garage) and have replaced a 3 Hp exterior foundation pump once!
When it comes to small sump pumps/sewage ejector pumps...it is false economy to buy cheap ones. If you can find one with a lifetime warranty, good place to start.
Dang 3 horsepower !! That is about 3-400 gpm !! You live in Venice ?? I bet they are submersibles...... in my opinion they are not a dependable option. A vertical line shaft pump is the only way to go. Bronze, brass and stainless with tefc motor. Swaby is a decent unit to look at. Buy once cry once.
I hear ya...but they are still a far sight better than the elcheapo pumps that most people pick up at bLowes/HD/Menards/etc when theirs goes out...
Yes, I agree. The previous owner of the cheapest POS he could in when he listed the house. Shaver in me though for now checking it earlier and replacing it before it failed. There's a good one in there now.
