Awhile back, during the “Bug” lockdown, I was able to cut a bunch of mostly Red Oak with my father. All told, I'd estimate we cut around 12-14 cords. I took about 5-6, and he got closer to 7-8. The trailers and backhoe we used to load up are his, so I think it was more than fair to me.

Now I'm forgetting, but it was either 4 or 5 trailers I brought home like this. The logs were cut to 16'.

His trailer is of similar size, but much heavier built. We loaded his up probably a third-a half again what mine were loaded to.

All told my pile. 16' long and approx 7.5' high.

That’s an awesome pile of wood!! My saws would be chomping at the bit to tear that up. :saw:

Thanks. The pictures don't really do justice to the size of some of the logs. The biggest ones were in the 2' diameter range. The Kioti which is rated to lift 2761 lbs to full height (108" in the air) had all it could do to lift some of them. There's no doubt in my mind some of the logs are close to 2800-3000 lbs. I think the one I pictured on my forks is 20-22" diameter.

How big is your property, and what types of chores are you looking to do with the tractor?

I think a CK will be perfect for what you intend to do. Not too big, but plenty big enough for snow removal and logging. There are times I think to myself I could have gotten away with a CK, but 10-15 percent of the time I have to do chores a CK would struggle with or not do at all. For a 5 acre country spread you’ll love the CK
