About 5 days or more, it all depends on my Daughters work and schedule. I'd like to do 7 but that "may" not happen.
Id like to know how many cords of wood I'm giving away! But it has to happen and I'm getting the land cleared in record time, not to mention this will save me a couple "thousand" dollars down the road.
Molly, I'm so glad your grabbing up what you need, as I've said before, much more up there down the road. You'll never "want" for wood.
A friend down the road took some in very early spring and over the winter, some stuff was on the ground and some standing dead. *Note* everything in the pictures marked with a RED X are going away this week. There must be a few dozen cord and then some going...
There was PU or two there last August, that went home loaded. Full sized. Warner maybe was one? Midwinter rented a trailer last year also. She went home with a bunch that time I've taken half a face cord. About a 2hr ride, each way for me. The sugar maple I got in my minivan, was heavy stuff. It was enough. Been there 3 times, came home with wood once. No room for any more... I know.. there's always room You should mark that week down, just in case. It's a good ride for you, but a chance to possible meet a few other members, if nothing else. Awesome, I may have to take a ride if there is any decent stuff around. I'm looking for rounds in the 10-16" range for another part of my wifes new business. She wants to have them available as accessories to use as seats for the kids with the mud kitchens we're selling.
Just a *note* to all reading... There is a guy either out there today or in the next few days with a skidder and there are a couple guys working as a team, so before you go up there, "Please" let me know. These people are clearing my land for the wood, It's where they make their $$$$. I would assume they will be done in a week or less. There is a acre+ of wood that has to come down. When we get up there, if any of you wish to camp or stay on the land, you're more than welcome. There is a porta potty and fresh water will be available! I have a burn permit so come up and enjoy a day or so, there is plenty of room.
Excellent! Lunch is on me. Midwinter Molly, will you be going back out? I'm thinking Friday the 17th, or Sat the 18th. I even "fixed" my tailgate the other day! I may have cut the edge of the tailgate off, then used a hacksaw to cut off the catch pin so it had to open, but I'm calling it fixed.
I can go any day, or couple of days even. But I'd like to meet up with people, so Saturday may work best.
