BIL came up today, between the 2 ton come-a-long and the quad.. The leaning Ash in the woods got dropped.

Then went after a dead Elm, larger half didn't want to cooperate at all.

2 wedges, about 1/2 inch of hinge.. Just won't go.

    Sooooo..

    Happy Independence day everyone!

bogieb, too bad about the binoculars. My go to's are from early 1970 Sears. They are on the window sill and get used every day.

Canadian border VT, the deck is looking great. Nice two-tone color.

Yesterday, I cleaned a good part of the barn and organized a bunch of lumber out there. It was about 65 degrees out and a sideways drizzle from an east wind. I cleared a bunch of poke weed along the barn and dug out the tap roots.

I have two old doors that are going to be restored, and I got set up out there.

Today, I picked up a half cord of split oak from my brothers place. He had a tree service out and they left a bunch of dead oak limbs for processing.

The wild black raspberries are ripe here. I had pancakes yesterday morning with maple syrup from the sap from our trees. I'm looking at flow through evaporator pan to go on the lumberjack. I found a place in VT that sells a stainless pan that holds about 5 gallons of sap. It should work great for the small batch I do here.

We had a nice visit at my parents today. My dad gave me a splitting axe, that he made, for a late birthday present.

He is quite a wood carver.

I began building a lamp post today for out front. The brass lantern I bought is almost done. I just have to replace the three lamp sockets and one pane of glass.

Just get some of those fire crackers. A string of 500 and then a 100 and pull off the ones you don't want. Haha

Bad luck I guess , do you get it in the salt? I only drive my old k10 that much. And knock on wood it doesn't lock up or do bad things like that.

Good evening everybody. Well a couple elms got taken down by the upper flats so a lot of branches are going on the bonfire. We were sitting up here in the shade and I had to relax run down to the house. We had notice Holly was total interested in something over in the downed tree. Well I called Chaz over and here is what we found.

No, just was my 3 mile trip to the VA swimming pool three times a week. Maine roads are treated, but I haven't noted a salt issue. They do mix sand and a melting agent. I think it is just my luck. I did buy the very costly anything mechanical warranty that has saved me a lot. Wear and tear items not included. I've already gotten my money back on that investment.

So what's the deal on this website certificate? Seems like 5his wouldn't take 15 minutes for someone who even knows what that means or how to fix it?

It's getting annoying having to make two more clicks to get here:rofl: .

Seriously though I am sure some traffic is being turned away that sees that and doest want to fool with it or thinks the site is down cause they don't know to click the right buttons.
