5 gallons will last me a month, maybe 6 weeks in the Summer cutting lawn at two houses. Properties are mostly woodland. I have the Eagle metal gas can with the yellow funnel now and it works well. I have a similar 5 gallon jug for diesel with the same yellow pleated flexible spout and the pleats started to crack and leak after a year or two. I hope I got the only defective one.
I don't pour from 5 gallon cans anymore. I use the cheapy harbor freight fuel transfer pump ran on batteries. I pump it all out until it's about empty than deal with the pos spouts. (at work) At home all my cans are still pre-epa but I still use the transfer pump..
Highly recommend. I can put fuel in these in Florida. Some states they have to be red. I don’t pour fuel but use a jiggler hose. It will be my next post. edit: multiple colors available.
What gets me about those sucker nozzles is like what Marshel said with the glug glug. At around 33lbs with a full tank it kinda gets heavy filling up a quad or whatever, And waiting for it to suck air.
no help on hacks. I have an old two gallon for my two cycle mix. Pop the yellow hat and pour away. I have used those overly engineered gas cans and they are frustrating. Find an old one at a tag sale maybe?
SureCan! The best gas can I've ever owned. Available in 5gl. and 2gl. size. I got my 2 5gl. cans at Menard's. I never get cheated out of my full 35gl. discount each month at Kroger! I get my f-150 down below 1/4 tank (36gl tank), put 9gl. in the 2 cans, then the other 26gl. in the truck! Very easy to use.
