Oh it's coming. The sweltering heat will hit, and when it does you'll need to be in the lake.

Next week the low temps will be 70°.

Ordered a new set of snow tires and wheels today for the wife's CRV. I had her sit down and go through the different styles of wheels available, and she made a good choice.
Enkei PW10's with new Winterforce 2's, studded. Best time of the year to buy snow tires, wheels don't matter as much.
Pretty much the most exciting part of my day. :emb:

This is what I did yesterday morning - in long sleeved shirt, heavy gloves and thick jeans. That is a whole bank full of invasive roses, with PI in the understory, that has taken over the swamp next door. Just trying to keep it on it's side of the ditch/stream.

    Stream before-after compare-sm.jpg

The piles of branches don't look all that big, but even rolled up tight (like a hay bale) the end prooduct completly filled the back of the Explorer
    Piles of rose branches.jpg

Three clumps of roses that I had to dig out of the middle of the stream so they didn't bridge the gap, or eventually damm it up
    rose stumps at road.jpg

And here it the PI that is just the other side of the stream (not on the left, but in center and right
    Poison ivy just across bank.jpg

This is what I did last January - fighting the fence the whole way (so I didn't end up in the stream). That is when I got the idea that the fence had to go.

Still have a ways to go, but if I keep chipping away at it, at least it will, hopefully, stay under control.

Thats the exact weather pattern we have been in, and will be in again starting today. Tonight is the local fireworks. Theres usually 8-10 boats out on the water at any given time. Tonight, literally every boat will be out in close proximity in the dark to watch the 3-4 fireworks displays that some of our neighbors put on. Its chaos. Everyone is smashed into one smaller area, so I stay out in the bigger part away from everyone where I can putter around and keep the skeeters at bay.

Its weird for me. A big part of my job is taking people out to lunch, so going from 15 or more times a month to nothing took some adjustment.

I was seeing snow tires like half off in my size, a few months ago on eBay. They were Cooper's really cheap from a tire company that sells there. They were so cheap I contemplated buying them and running them now and just wearing them out fast..they were that cheap. Haha. I decided against that though. Didn't want to be swapping tires every 10,000 miles.

I had the brakes done on my van 2 yrs. ago. Went about 2000 miles and the rear brakes locked up. Had to have them done again. Seems the calipers rusted because they were not used enough. I just don't drive that much. Mostly use the van when I want to take my mobility scooter with me. I have a lift on the back of the van. Cars cost when you don't drive them! :headbang:

Have about 1,200 fireworks to shoot tonight. I said we needed 1,776 but the wife was not convinced.

Last couple minutes from last year.

I try and take my Bronco out at least once a week, even if its just to the dump. I've replaced every caliper on it at least twice over the past 8 years.

No rest time for today. This morning I mowed my yard and the neighbor's yard, with a 15-20 minute hydration break in between.

The sod's 1st mowing (where sod is and dirt to left used to be two raised beds)
    Sod - 1st mowing.jpg

During that break, I managed to break my binoculars :(. They are about 30 years old, so I got my mother's money's worth out of them (they were a BD or Christmas present but I don't remember if it was before or after moving to NH.

    Binoculars broken.jpg

Took another shower (4 showers from 5am yesterday thru 11 am today) and then headed off to pick up a ton of pellets I found on CL

Got them into the basement, and taking it easy now but feel like I should be doing something.

Had to get the mowing done while it was cooler this morning, and those pellets went on CL last night (I don't know why I checked CL, I must have had ESP). Wanted to make sure I got them. I think I will relax and read for a while though.

Got some steak tips on sale yesterday and they've been marinating for 28 hours - think they'll make a fantastic dinner :chef:

We have a 3 tiered deck on south west side of house, been cleaning and preparing decks for stain. Top 2 decks done, BUT wife wanted a 2 tone color scheme. A LOT easier to pump spray and back roll 1 color. So floor are a honey color and railings, posts and facia will be black walnut.

You can see lowest deck floor not done yet

So 2x 12 and post and railings will be dark rest will be honey for natural wood colors
