I have some brush growing up by my pole barn and it has some weird looking growths on it. It appears to grow on and around the branches. The inside is spongy looking and pale green. I couldn't get a clear picture of the inside.
It looks like it but they surround the branches they grow on. They were in better shape before the last rain storm we had.
Close enough? It's nothing I've seen growing near me before. I agree that it looks like a seed pod. Nothing inside but the spongy pale green stuff?
That's right Eckie, they're Murder Hornet Egg Cases, for sure! Now Run! Actually, I tried using Googles "Image Search" and came up with Serpents. Proving (once again) that Google doesn't know f_all. Or could it be a Kentucky Coffee Tree? Or I wonder if an insect larva is living in there paricitizing the plant? And lastly, your local horticultural extension agent would be a good person to ask.
