For a roof system? With shingles?
I don’t believe I could abide by that, especially if we’re talking about a 2-3” pitch + snow load.
But we may be looking at this differently...?

I left these 4x8 panels at the cottage. They are cedar, actually leftover from the original cottage build from over 40 yrs ago. They were simply too nice to use for roofing. I'll probably buy steel roofing like I planned on originally. I did snag a bunch of 3/4" plywood sheets, enough for probably 2 of the 3 bays, and a lot of other treated, some untreated, and some cedar lumber for the shed. All free, except for 7 hrs of hard labor, 7 hrs of driving and $50 of gas. Got a few other cool things while cleaning up the cabin and the shed as well. I'll post up pics later.

The front of the shed will be 2' higher than the back over an 8' front to back span. I'll have about a foot overhang front and back too.

What I got from the 3/4 plywood score will make up not having to buy deck boards that I was going to use.

Shingles hold a lot more snow than steel roofing. This was a concern of mine. The darker steel roof should melt and let it slide off the back better

Stacking to the ceiling will happen too though.;). At least for the two outside bays. The center Bay will hold my tractor, at least until I either modify the door opening of my old shed to be wider, or build the big detached garage we want.

Finally got done weeding my weed patch, I mean garden.
While weeding you have a lot of time to think. Thinking about some of the crazy ads for free wood on CL " Come take all. Free haul away all." I came up with an idea.

    Craig's List ad.
    U-Pick:
Weeds, not weed, for sale. U-pick $5/5gal bucket.

Who knows. Not any crazier than the ads that want to give you free junk wood. Just clean it up. May get the garden weeded and make money on the side.:D:thumbs:

Well being it is about 70 out, this morning I did stage a few more pieces of wood to split. So after Chaz went to work I started splitting and got about a half cart load done and splitter ran out of gas. So put what I had in the gas can in the splitter. So it decided to be fickle and not start. So was sitting getting my breath back and a rabbit come across and stops. Turns and looks at me and starts hopping my way. Stops on the far side of the cart and then continues on. Man that could have been rabbit pot pie. Oh well, got the wood stacked and taking a break then mowing time. Have a good one all.

Finally getting a downpour this afternoon. We haven't had good rain in I'd say 3 or 4 weeks. It certainly is helping. It was looking pretty bad as this line was moving in, but the leading edge went northwest of us by just a few miles. We got the middle part of it.

Still waiting for rain myself. I've heard two big thunderboomers go by in the last couple days; one to the south and one to the west. Got the edges of the clouds to at least block the sun for a little while. Thought for sure I woudl get at least a token drop or two today, that didn't happen but still grateful that there was a nice dark cloud cover until about 2 so at least the house wasn't heating up.

Pop up storms down here, no telling where it will be. Took this picture on the way home. We got a shower from another cloud later. 0624201841a.jpg

At about 1:00 we got very little rain at my house, but 2 miles west where I was got a ton of rain real fast. Then later we got a brief 4-5 minute soaking at the house. Hopefully this will help raise the pond levels a little, water is getting a little low at the dock.
