Another glorious, cloudless day on the horizon - temp is 67* at 4:20 this morning. The high has been 92* here for the last couple of days and expecting this weather to hold at high 60's for lows and mid 90's for highs thru at least next Friday). On top of that, we are approaching being in an official drought. I've had 1/4" of rain in 3 weeks - at least one town has already put water restrictions in place - not a good year for me to start growing vegetables again. At least I'm only growing a couple of plants so can use a watering can if restrictions hit my town. Also laid a small patch of sod last weekend, that needs watered every day :headbang:.

I've been using a sprinkler now and then on dry patches, and the water pressure has gotten quite a bit lower. My town doesn't typically have watering restrictions, maybe they'll have to this year.

Well strawberries. It it isn't coon or bear, it is birds. Especially robins.

We've been watering daily. Here are two of the units we use. One fits on top of a t-post; the other just sits on the ground.

Losing water pressure is not normal...I would think that water restrictions would have long been in place before water levels reach a point that would affect your pressure. Assuming that your water pressure comes from elevated storage (water towers)
You might want to give your water utility a call to see if they have any idea why you are experiencing this...

I put dry grass clippings on my garden yesterday. It looks a lot nicer, plus should keep more moisture in the soil and less weeds. My 2 zucchini plants are doing well. Those were from really old seeds and I was amazed anything came from them. One seedling got damaged by me having to avoid stepping on my puppy, so I smashed one while it was in the starter flat. It has bounced back after replanting it in the garden. The other one is growing like a weed and already has 3 blossoms on it. The tomatoes are all doing well. The peppers are doing well too. To my amazement, the Italian parsley seedlings are finally taking off. There's no sign of the green onion seeds I planted though. We'll see.

Until a couple of years ago, I would have said non-existant around here too. But, I've seen one, and Googling shows that there aresome in the big cities and at the seacoast. Of course those are the areas that are flattish, so that makes sense.

actually, about 1/3 of water users in NH are on well water. I was on well water until I moved to my current house in 2013. This small town's main water supply is the Loon Pond water shed which is above most of the town that has service anyway.

I'm on the Pennichuck system, which draws from a group of ponds. No water restrictions yet, although the state is cautioning people with wells to conserve. Rainfall is down 60% for the last two months here.

Morning all. Our town has three wells to supply us with water. We automatically went on the first stage of water restrictions June 1. Water alternate days, etc. Normally we don't get more restrictive than that. We have a big water tower at the high point of town and a smaller older one which I guess is backup. Water pressure at the bottom of town is pretty good.

Believe it or not my neighborhood at Lory State Park had a water tower.
