Im on my way home for lunch yesterday and am one block from there and what is this i see? Holy cow, nice wood right on the curb. Park, buck and load opportunity. Being the opportunistic hoarder i am i stopped right away and rang the doorbell. One of those 21st century ones that make a weird noise when you push it? Not knowing proper etiquette for one i knocked. Loud barking dog and no answer. I called the tree company as they obviously took a tree or two down and left it roadside for pick up. Got no one and left message. Not having time this week to grab any as its literally right around the corner from home, i called buzzsaw and left a VM for him. PMed him here as well. Went that way this morning and its gone. Guy out front washing his car so i asked. He said yup they came early and took it. Some primo white oak. Oh well, I tried! IMG_2679.JPG

I had to do a double take on the tree company's sign there. For half a second I thought it was the FHC logo LOL. That would be some funny stuff. Like those people that wake up to all the plastic flamingoes in their yard with a sign that says you've been flocked... Imagine waking up to your curbside wood being gone and an ominous sign saying FHC on it!? At any rate, you tried to do the right thing and someone else apparently needed the wood more than you did.

Call that tree co Brad. Maybe they are looking for a hoarder like you to take wood if they are in your area.

One of my main issues about hoarding, especially with the amounts i score., but hey i figure out a way.
I have enough room at my friends for another 2-3 cords, but need/want one year seasoning wood.

i did call and left a message asking about the wood. Funny thing, couple Winters ago the same tree company did the same couple miles right up the street. Big log deck roadside. I stopped and talked to homeowner who called them and i got the okay to cut some. They put a sign up for "free wood" before i could get back. I get there on a Sunday and there's another guy cutting. Luckily he was cutting the crappier wood and i got the ash.
My fear is this farmer steve That company does a LOT of work in the area. Job signs all over the place. Id end up having to cut all the time and dont want to be at their mercy. Id prefer to cut at my time and convenience. Im sure they have places to dump wood
