My new saw sure doesn't oil much. I pushed the pin in and have it maxed out. The dealer filled it with stihl oil. I'm used to my echoes that slobber like a saint bernard so is this normal? It does oil but .... oh the bars a 36"
Well....sheepishly, I hit something on my 3rd cookie and that's all its done. Just going by the nose spray onto a log. Spoiled as the big Echoes can really pump the oil.
I have a 362 and I don't think it puts out enough oil for a 24 inch bar. I got mine on Max and it's barely enough. So the adjustable oiler really isn't very adjustable.
All my Stihls (20 or so) are usually a 1/2 tank of oil per tank of fuel. The 241,261 and 462 with the adjustable oilers are slightly more. Lots of discussion on the interwebs about what people think their saw is doing or not. Nowadays saws are designed to run out of fuel before oil to avoid bar overheating.
